Grandma Doris' Special Mint Stick Brownies



These mint brownies from Grandma Bickle were always a favorite!

Brownie Ingredients:
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 stick butter
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 can (16 oz) chocolate syrup
  • 1 cup flour

Mint Frosting Ingredients:
  • 8 Tbsp butter, softened
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 4 Tbsp milk or cream, as much to make creamy
  • 1/2 tsp peppermint extract
  • Green food coloring, a few drops

Glazed Topping:
  • 9 squares semi-sweet chocolate
  • 8 Tbsp butter

Instructions:
  • Mix brownie ingredients in order and put into a greased jelly roll pan at 350° for 25-30 minutes. Let cool.
  • Mix mint frosting ingredients together and spread over cooled brownies. Refrigerate.
  • Melt together the glazed topping ingredients in a double boiler and dribble over green icing. 
  • Tilt pan back and forth to get glaze all over pan.
